Behind the Camera with Ashley Canay
Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Canay.
Ashley C., let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
To make a very long story short, I my love for video started at Blake High School of the Arts. I then majored in Telecommunications at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. After graduating, I moved back to Tampa and started teaching High School TV production and then a news station. Finally I resigned from my job August 3rd 2016 to become a fulltime Cinematographer/Videographer.
Has it been a smooth road for you?
It has been a relatively smooth journey. No major obstacles and God has guided my steps along this entire way. I get asked all the time was I worried and do I worry. My response is always "No, God got me!"
Please tell us about your WERK:
I am a professional black woman Photographer/Cinemetographer. I mainly capture Weddings, portraits and big events. I am proud of of my growth over the past couple of years. I believe what sets me apart is I am willing to invest in myself.
